CPI fast camps in all mandals on May 22
Kakinada: The East Godavari unit of CPI will organise one-day relay fast camps in all 64 mandals in the district onMay 22, with a demand to accord Special Category Status to AP.Speaking to press persons at district party office here on Monday, the party district unit secretary, Tatipaka Madhu said that this agitation was planned in view of conflicting stance taken up by both ruling and opposition parties in AP.
Madhu wanted passing of resolutions by panvhayats at village level and mandal parishads in all mandal headquarters as desired by AP Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samiti.
Expressing solidarity with 32 lakh AgriGold victims, the CPI would take-up two-day ‘Aatma Gosha Yatra’ on May 30 and 31. The padayatra starts at Guntur on both the days and reach state capital Amaravati.
Madhu demanded that the governmet come forward to purchase the properties of AgriGold to help the victims. In addition to this, the government also release amount towards advance payments to the victims who have been facing servere financial constraints.
