Police arrest killers of Kabaddi player
Chirala: The Chirala sub-division police arrested nine persons who killed the national-level Kabaddi player Tanguturi Naresh and tried to portray the murder as suicide.According to the Chirala DSP Dr Prem Kajal, Tanguturi Naresh was a national-level Kabaddi player and native of Kadavakuduru village.
On the night of May 8, he had an argument over the Kabaddi game with 10 people from the same village, Battina Punnaiah, Battina China Subbarao, Perabattula Ramakrishna, Kesana Subbaiah, Kanubaddi Ramaiah, Battina Venkateswarlu, Somisetty Subbarao, Battina Sriram, Battina Chaitanya and Battina Chiranjeevi at milk booth in the village. Under the influence of alcohol, they all beat up Naresh to death and hanged his body in a jamaoil plantation belongs to Palaparti Venkateswarlu.
During the investigation, the Inkollu CI M Seshagiri Rao and his staff arrested all of the accused except Kesana Subbaiah on Tuesday afternoon and recovered the sticks, iron rod and motor bikes used to kill Naresh and transport his body to the jamoil plantation.
The DSP announced on Wednesday that the accused were being produced before the court and rowdy-sheets were opened.
