Summer workshop begins

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh State Creativity and Culture Commission (APSCCC) launched a five-day summer workshop on art, craft, creative works and storytelling for the students of Street Kids Community Village (SKCV) here on Wednesday. APSCCC CEO Dr D Vizai Bhaskar inaugurated the workshop at the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA). It will conclude on May 20.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhaskar said that skills should be embellished and many more programmes would be organised to make a platform for the future generations. He said that government would take responsibility to organise programmes periodically on specific art forms. Tutors would be deputed to train interested students as there were chances of a few arts to fade in the course of time.

 This was the first programme organised by the APSCCC and many such programmes would be organised. Programmes like doll dance, ring dance, plate dance which would gain immediate recognition would be given preference, he added.

SKCV chairman Dr A Sridhar Reddy, former AIR director M Krishna Kumari, Sikhara School director B Madhava Rao, CCVA CEO DR Sivanagi Reddy and Malaxmi property ventures CEO Sandeep were present.
