Vijayawada: The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) State committee has called for a Maha Dharna on May 24 demanding the State government to cancel GO No 39 for filling Panchayat Secretary (PS) posts on contract basis. They demanded filling up of the posts in regular procedure.

Addressing the media here on Friday, DYFI secretary M Surya Rao recalled that out of 6,500 PS vacant posts 1,055 posts were filled through APPSC in 2016. For the remaining 5,600 posts the government has issued a GO 39 to fill 1,511 PS posts through contract procedure which was doing injustice to the unemployed youth.
