4-yr-old sets record in archery

Vijayawada: Malapati Maruthi Aarush Reddy is the youngest lad to create a new Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records by fastest shots in archery with bare bow and wooden arrows on Sunday. Four-year-old Aarush has achieved the feat in the presence Adjudicator Biswadeep Roy Chowdhury, and the record attempt was held at VMC Cherukuri Volga Archery Academy. He has created the record by releasing the fastest 118 archery shots in 14.40 minutes for a distance of 15 feet.

Adjudicator Biswadeep Roy Chowdhury judged the whole act and declared both the Asia and India book of records in the name of Aarush. Speaking on the occasion Chowdhury said that Asia Book of Records was a collection of records from Asian countries spanning from Dubai to Japan covering great Indus valley and Russia. He said that in all 27 Asian countries are part of this record, he added.

Volga Archery Academy founder Cherukuri Satyanarayana expressed happiness that one more lad from his academy had created a new record. He said that Aarush joined the academy eight months back and underwent training daily for four hours. He proudly said that Volga academy has produced a new world class archer for the country.

Dr AAV Ramalinga Reddy (Aarush grandfather) said that with his encouragement in sports Aarush underwent archery training. He said Aarush will be celebrating his fourth birthday on May 23. He said that a Doctor's family has produced an archer for the nation.
Aarush was honoured with a medal, certificate on achieving the record.
