Conversion of Chitrada–Kathipudi into 4-lane road

 Kakinada: East Godavari District Collector Kartikeya Mishra reviewed the road conversion works in the stretch between Chitrada and Kathipudi which is part of NH 216 for a distance of 27.5 km into four-lane road. He directed the officials of both NH 216 and Kakinada RDO to expedite and complete the work by June 3.

At the review meeting held at the Collector’s camp office on Saturday evening, the collector directed the officials of both the departments to complete the road margin and barricading works also by June 3.

In this connection, the Collector asked the officials to fill all the gaps  between Chitrada and  Kakinada immediately to suit to the traffic needs. From Chitrada, the road will connect to Uppalankamondi road bridge area in Karapa mandal en route to Amalapuram as a bypass road, without touching Kakinada.

Apart from this, the collector asked the officials  to  display  welcome boards at  Pithapuram, Gollaprolu and Chebrolu bypass roads. The collector also directed the officials to display distance boards  at Kathipudi, Annavaram  to Vishakapatnam.Kakinada RDO L. Raghu Babu, NH 216 AE Venkata Ramana and others participated.
