Tourists gather at Polavaram boating point on New Year eve

Eluru: Hours before the New Year entry, tourists thronged the Polavaram boating point in West Godavari district to watch the scenic beauty of River Godavari and its surroundings.

The launches and boats were filled with the tourists at the Polavaram boating point on Sunday morning to go over to the famous tourist spot Papikondalu. The tourists around 1,500 have come in batches to board the launches to travel in River Godavari.

Some of the youth who came to Polavaram boating point have decided to celebrate the New Year at Papikondalu area. A youth from Eluru, Krishna Mohan, said that he is fond of Papikondalu and loves to stay in the night at the resorts of Koruturu to celebrate the New Year along with his friends. He went to Polavaram with 10 friends on Sunday morning.

On the other hand, employees of the tourism boat services checked all the launches and boats engaged in the Papikondalu tour.  Some elderly persons along with their children also reached Polavaram boating point to go to Papikondalu. Most of the people booked resorts between Koruturu and Sirivaka to stay in the night.

Some tourists came to the boating point and booked tickets through the online reservation system to visit Papikondalu. They said that they would visit the Gandipochamma temple and other tourist spots en route to Papikondalu.
