He said that it has not even appointed a technical committee to study the real factors to accord the ST status to the Boya Valmiki sect and introduced the Bill in the Assembly in haste which was totally wrong. In fact, the Tribal Advisory Committee should pass a resolution to such a major decision, but it was not done, he pointed out.

Baburao on Monday said the government has not even examined  the history of the Boya Valmiki  sect before making  recommendations to the Centre to accord ST status, which was totally against to interests and welfare of STs.  The people of Boya Valmiki sect have no relation in any manner with the existing STs, he added.

The previous government rejected the demand of the Boya Valmiki , but the present TDP government, for their political interests has been trying to accord ST status to them, he  alleged. Babu Rao said that the Chairman of SC/ST Commission Karem Sivaji and Dr Satyapal committee reports were totally wrong and those reports were against the guidelines of the Central government.

He called upon the tribals to utilise the Janmabhoomi-Maavooruprogramme, to be started from Tuesday, and raise their voice against the State government’s anti-tribals’step.
