ACP Arjun shifted

Visakhapatnam: The government shifted Assistant Commissioner of Police (East) L Arjun and appointed K Latha Madhuri as the new Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in the East Sub-Division. Latha Madhuri is presently working as DSP in CID. 

Meanwhile, sources said that the government after facing severe pressure from the TDP leaders of Pendurthy Assembly constituency, shifted L Arjun and directed him to report to the Director-General of Police’s Office.  The police personnel feel that the government was not happy about the Arjun’s swift action and the arrest of TDP leaders who allegedly attacked a woman belonging to the scheduled caste community and tried to encroach on her land in Jerripothulapalem village of Pendurty mandal in the district. 

Some of the party leaders complained to the top leaders of TDP that the party’s image was completely damaged in the Jerripothulapalem incident due to the highhandedness of the police.
