Telangana water resources minister T Harish Rao reportedly spoke to his AP counterpart D Uma Maheswara Rao on Wednesday over the Tungabhadra water.

Officials of RDS and KC canal have been asked to send the water requirement details and the engineer-in-chief has not received the same yet. “I have not received any requisition from our officials. They may submit the report on Thursday. We will send it to Tungabhadra Board after consulting the government,” he said.

AP and Telangana will send separate indents to the Tungabhadra Board simultaneously communicating their requirement on Tungabhadra water. The Board will decide the water share to both the states depending on availability of water and requirements.

“I cannot say about the indent that we will send to the Tungabhadra Board till we get requisition from our engineers,” Venkateswara Rao said. Water is released from RDS to Telangana and AP and from Sunkesula Barrage to KC canal.
