GITAM signs MoU with Wachemo varsity

Visakhapatnam: GITAM signed an MoU with Wachemo University (Ethiopia) here on Tuesday. Wachemo University (Ethiopia)   is a newly established public university having 17,000 students with 2,000 faculties.  The MoU will enable Wachemo University, Ethiopia, to get intellectual support from GITAM for capacity building in research.

The MoU was signed and exchanged by Dr  Adane Haile, Vice- President (academic affairs) and Prof M Potha Raju, Registrar, GITAM in the presence of  Prof MS Prasada Rao, Vice-Chancellor, GITAM, Prof K Siva Ramakrishna, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of GITAM and KPC Kishan, Director (International Relations). As part of MoU, the faculty of Wachemo will be trained at GITAM on establishing research facilities and identifying projects that would contribute for the development of Ethiopia. Also, the faculty of Wachemo would enrol in doctoral programmes in various faculties of GITAM. Students of GITAM would work with students of Wachemo to identify entrepreneur opportunities in Ethiopia and assists them in developing business plans. 

GITAM faculty would be deputed to Wachemo to design curriculum to offer new programmes and also undertake research jointly with faculty of Wachemo.
