Kakinada: A man who is the Sarpanch of a village, being a retired school teacher, never felt ashamed of the deeds that he knew would benefit the society. In Nawabpeta village in Alamuru mandal, lives a man by the name Bokka Guru Chandra Swaroop, fondly called as Swaroop Master by the villagers.

On Tuesday, the inaugural day of the fifth phase of the Janmabhoomi, he cleaned the village roads with a long broom with dedication no less than that of a sanitation worker. He said that keeping their region clean is also the responsibility of an able leader.

He further said that he felt neither shy nor guilty in tidying up his village. Interestingly, the Nawabpeta Panchayat has also been the recipient of the national-level Swachh Survekshan award.
