Visakhapatnam:  District Cooperative Central Bank Chairman U Sukumar Varma on Saturday exhorted the secretaries of the Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS) to improve their awareness on computerisation of records.

Addressing an awareness programme held for them here on Tuesday, he said that it would cost Rs 3 lakh to computerise each PACS. Of the amount, the Centre share would be 60 per cent and the state government’s share would be 35 per cent and the rest of the five per cent would be jointly borne by the APCOB, DCCB and the PACS. District Cooperative Officer ND Milton said that a national-level committee has been set up to monitor the computerisation and said that a state-level committee with the principal secretary to the department of cooperation as chairman would be constituted.

Bank CEO DVN Varma urged the branch manager/supervisor to work with coordination with the auditors and ensure that the computerisation has been through with the help of a common action plan.
