Last rites for pitcher

Parvathipuram (Vizianagaram): People hailing from Puligummi village in Parvathipuram mandal launched a novel campaign here on Thursday. In order to make their village free from open defecation, they conducted final rites to pitcher and cremated it to convey a message to the people to shun open defecation.

All the people in the village took part in the unique programme. Sarpanch G Hemalatha and panchayat secretary K Swathi stated that they want to see their village free from open defecation.
