1,600 cr for water schemes: Minister Somireddy

Nellore: Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that the State government had allocated Rs.1,600 crore for drinking water scheme in rural areas under Panchayatraj department. 

The Minister participated in Janmabhoomi-Maavooru programme at Idimepalli, Pidurupalem here on Friday. He laid foundation stone for water tank at Idimepalli to be constructed at a cost of Rs.30 lakh and distributed four tractors to the farmers under Ryturatham scheme. He also inaugurated C C roads in the mandal.

Speaking to the media persons, Chandramohan Reddy  said that the government had allocated Rs.92 crore for 357 drinking water works in Sarvepalli constituency and the process would be commenced from January 17 after the completion of tenders. 

He would appeal to the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for additional 5 tmc of water from Pothireddypadu high regulator. Agriculture JD Chandra Naidu and others were present.
