APG Bank officer burnt alive as his car catches fire

Banaganapalle (Kurnool): The branch manager of Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank (APGB) working at Garladinne, S Rajesh (32) was burnt alive after the car in which he was travelling caught fire. The incident took place at Daddanala Project in Banaganapalle mandal on Saturday morning. 

According to sources, Rajesh used to come to his office in his car from his residence in Nandyal.  As usual, he was on his way to  his office when the mishap took place. When his car reached Daddanala project, his car bumper came in contact with the speed breaker and a fire broke out in the car suddenly. Within no time, the flames engulfed the car leaving no scope for Rajesh to escape. Caught in flames, Rajesh was burnt to ashes. 

Locals who noticed the gruesome incident, informed to the Banaganapalle police. Circle Inspector S Srinivasulu, with his team, rushed to the spot. By then Rajesh and the car were reduced to ashes. Based on the car number, they came to know that the deceased was an employee of Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank (APGB).

They informed the Regional Managers of Kurnool and Nandyal, Rama Subba Rao and Shiva Shankar Reddy respectively about the incident. Rajesh was a native of Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam. He was transferred to Garladinna branch in 2016 from Nandyal. He is survived by mother, wife and two children. He lost his father two years ago.  The Banaganapalle police registered a case and took up investigation.
