Burglars loot two houses

Mantralayam (Kurnool):  Burglars sneaked into two houses and decamped with gold and cash at Madhavaram village on Friday. According to Madhavaram Police Station  SI M Raja Reddy, Telugu Ramanjaneyulu and Kummari Urukundu are residents of Madhavaram and are neighbours.

The two families have gone to work as agriculture labours after locking their houses. Some burglars sneaked into the houses and decamped with gold and cash. The families, when returned in the  afternoon, noticed that the almirah was kept open and some articles were thrown scattered.

Members of the houses lodged complaint. It is complained that  2.50 gms  of gold, one kg of silver and a cash of Rs.13,000 was stolen from Ramanjaneyulu house and Rs.1.88 lakhs cash was stolen from Kummari Urukundu’s house, the SI said. We have filed a case and took up investigation, stated the Sub Inspector, M Raja Reddy.
