TDP groups clash; 1 hurt seriously

Kurnool: Tensions prevailed at Bommireddy Palle under Veldurthy police station limits with two groups within the ruling Telugu Desam Party clashed with each other. In the incident that took place on Friday afternoon, one Besta Krishnudu alias Kittu of Veldurthy sustained severe injuries. He was immediately rushed to Kurnool general hospital for treatment.

According to the victim, he was attacked by three people, Giri and two of his associates. Giri was the nephew of Veldurthy MP’s husband Subba Rayudu. He said that he was transporting sand from the nearby stream for the recently sanctioned toilets by the government. They intervened and ordered to him to stop the sand transportation by saying that it was their monopoly to transport sand in the area, he said.

When he opposed and did not heed to their demands all the three people borne with sickles attacked him at once, Krishnudu said. He was severely injured and his relatives rushed him to Kurnool general hospital for treatment, he said. 

Veldurthy SI Shaik Sha Vali said that a small misunderstanding had taken place between the two people over transportation of sand and they clashed with each other.  However, we have filed a case based on the complaint lodged by the relative of the victim, he said.
