Shiv Shankar never compromised on values

Visakhapatnam: Former Janata Dal (United) President Sharad Yadav paid rich tributes to former Union Minister and Congress leader P Shiv Shankar. He said Shiv Shankar had proved that caste, religion and financial status were no barriers to become a successful man in life.

Sharad Yadav delivered Shiv Shankar memorial lecture on the subject ‘Save Constitution and Save Democracy’ here on Sunday. Recalling his association with Shiv Shankar in Parliament, Sharad Yadav pointed out that Shiv Sankar even after attaining greater heights, never compromised on values and ethics.  During his long political career, Shiv Shankar ably served the nation holding various key posts.

His style of life had become an inspiration for others, Sharad Yadav said. The senior politician said that the depressed were now living in several fears and doubts.

The nation’s democracy was in danger, he added. Wife of Shiv Shankar P Lakshmi Bai, former chairman of NMDA M Shashidhar Reddy, former MP Chinta Mohan, former Vice-Chancellor of Andhra KS Chalam and Commercial Tax Appellate Tribunal Joint Commissioner T Shiva Shankar were present.
