AP to showcase capital as investors’ destination

Amaravati: The state government is all set to showcase Amaravati before national and international media highlighting major milestones which are transforming it in to as investors’ destination. The APCRDA (AP Capital Region Development Authority) is going conduct an international media symposium in New Delhi on January 9 in this regard.

The state government said that the international media was evincing keen interest in studying the potentiality of Amaravati as investors’ destination because of its growing reputation among the global investors and world business leaders following Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s regular interactions with them at international fora.

In a video conference on Sunday, the Chief Minister directed principal secretary for APCRDA Ajay Jain and commissioner of CRDA Cherukuri Sreedhar to make a power point presentation before national and international media in the international media symposium.

“I am happy on attaining global recognition to Amaravati even in the initial stage. It is only because of perfect planning and long-term vision for developing the happiest, liveable and sustainable green field capital city of the world,” he said. 

He also appealed to the global investors to come and invest in Amaravati since it would be a golden destination for them.  

He reminded that several advanced countries such as Singapore, Japan, the UK and China, besides the World Bank had come forward to take active part in the development of Amaravati. “They are ready to extend technical cooperation for the development of start-up area, transport planning and smart city planning, besides giving support to investment promotion for infrastructure, economic development and financing development of capital city project,” he said.

Besides, national organisations, including Rail India Technical and Economic Service, Indian Oil Corporation, nationalised banks and insurance companies and CAG proposed to set up their offices which would help to boost the economic activity. 

BRS Medicity Healthcare Company proposed an investment of Rs 5,450 cr and a job potential of 6,700.

The Chief Minister opined that the media symposium was the right platform to focus on the developments of Media City, one of the nine cities proposed to be developed in Amaravati, through which the government targeted around 65,000 direct jobs by 2036.

As per action-plan of the Media City, a media focused integrated business park would be launched. 

The government would announce incentives for animation, VFX, gaming companies and attract a latest technologies based studio for Tollywood and Bollywood, TV, low cost content in 20-30 acres.

“Unstinted public support to the government, abundant availability of water, power, infrastructure potentiality and credibility and commitment of the government helped in attracting global investors to Amaravati,” he said.
