Eastern Naval Command conducts Trialthlon

Visakhapatnam: The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) Triathlon was conducted here on Sunday.  Over 270 personnel, including ladies and children, participated. 

The event was conducted in three categories- Olympic- for the professionals, Sprint - for the brave hearted  and Rookie for ladies and children. 
Chief of Eastern Naval Command  Vice-Admiral Karambir Singh   participated and led the track to win the first prize in his category.

Giving away for prizes to the winners, he said that the sports brings out the best qualities of camaraderie, perseverance,  physical and mental robustness in an individual which are as important on the playing field as in battle. 

Lt.Commodore Vivek Bhatt of INS Karna was the winner of the ENC Triathlon conducted as per Olympic standards which included 1.5-km sea swimming followed by 40-km cycling and 20-km run non-stop. 

Commodore MK Kukreti of was the winner in the Olympic Triathlon Veteran Open category.  The ‘Sprint Triathlon’ which included a 700 mtrs swim, followed by 20-km cycling and a 10-km run was won by Vinod LSPT of INS Karna. 

Niharika Mamgain daughter of Capt NC Mamgain was the winner of the ‘Rookie Triathlon’ Junior Open category which comprised 300 mtrs swim followed by 10 km cycling and 5 km run. 

Chitrangada Singh daughter of Commodore D Singh won the Rookie Triathlon Ladies Open category while  Meena Pawar led her team to win the Rookie veterans category.
