Keep a vigil on functioning of Kasturbha Gandhi Balika Vidyalayams, Kala tells officials
Srikakulam: Energy Minister K Kala Venkata Rao inspected Kasturbha Gandhi Balika Vidyalayam (KGBV) at Lenkapeta near Ranastalam mandal centre on Sunday.
In the wake of girl students falling sick at G Sigadam KGBV, the Minister inspected and inquired about food quality, timings, water and health facilities.
The Minister inspected the KGBV and interacted with students later. On the occasion, he asked the students about teaching standards at the school.
The Minister also tasted prepared food items and later inspected the raw food items at the store room. Kala stressed the need for improved supervision over the functioning of KGBVs. He asked District Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy to prepare a report after conducting a thorough inquiry through task force teams on the functioning of all 32 KGBVs in the district.
Minister also asked village and mandal level public representatives to inspect KGBVs to correct irregularities at initial stage. Srikakulam RDO Balivada Dayanidhi and Rajiv Vidya Mission (RVM) project officer S Trinadha Rao accompanied the minister.
