Tirupati: Opposition leader and YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy has assured to strengthen the cooperative sector especially cooperative milk dairies and cooperative sugar factories in the State once the YSRCP is voted to power.

He flayed the Janmabhoomi committees and alleged that the TDP leaders formed into mafia in the name of the committees to loot the people. He alleged that they were collecting bribes from the pensioners and other beneficiaries. Jagan flayed the TDP government for its failure to constitute a Trust Board for Tirumala Tirupati Devsthanams (TTD).

He wondered why Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu could not set up a trust board for the world-renowned temple for the last eight months. On the 56th day of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra, Jagan addressed farmers at Puthalapattu village in Chittoor district on Monday evening.

Jagan slammed Naidu for closing down cooperative sugar factories and dairies in the State, particularly in Chittoor district. He pointed out that Naidu totally ignored the development of Chittoor and Renigunta sugar factories.

Due to negligence of the State government, sugarcane farmers failed to receive arrears of payment from both private and cooperative sugar factories in the district.

Pointing out that the State government had imposed a ban on making of black jaggery, he wondered how the sugarcane farmers could survive under the present circumstances. Earlier, Jagan launched his Padayatra from Kondreddypalli cross on Monday morning. The Padyatra covered Talapula Palli, Thimireddy Palli, Thotalopu, T Rangampeta and Putallapattu village.

Earlier, in the morning 400 people from tribal community joined YSRCP in Chittoor. They include 62 sarpanches, 26 MPTCs and 45 former sarpanches from Araku valley constituency in Visakhapatnam. They took part in Padayatra at Thimmireddypalli village in Puthalapattu constituency.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy welcomed them into the party and assured them that he would work tirelessly to uplift the tribal community in the state. Rajampeta MP P Mithun Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Sai Reddy, Puthalapattu MLA Dr Sunil, Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy and senior YSRCP leader B Karunakar Reddy accompanied Jagan.
