Janmabhoomi is a sacred programme
Tirupati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for Rs 2-crore Nanyala forest eco-tourism project at Ramakuppam in Kuppam constituency on Tuesday.
Later he participated in ‘Janmabhumi-Maa Vooru’ Grama Sabha and distributed assets worth Rs 269 crore. He also laid foundation stones for some projects and inaugurated some other works worth Rs 517 crore by unveiling 26 plaques.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Janmabhoomi programme is a sacred one which enables everyone to serve the poor and their motherland and it is being implemented in 16,000 villages across the State.
He termed Janmabhoomi as a bigger festival than Sankranti. “Welfare of the people is our priority. Sankranti Kanuka, Ramjan Tofa, Christmas Kanuka etc were given in this direction. By being the elder son of every family, I am giving Rs 1,000 pension to 50 lakh people,” Naidu said.
Through ‘Gnana Bhumi’, scholarship amount is being credited to the accounts of poor students directly. Under Chandranna Bima scheme, financial security is being provided to the poor. He said the poor were stating that with the Rs 5-lakh assistance they were doing well.
Chandrababu added that on January 11, which is the last day of Janmabhoomi programme, two lakh people will get financial assistance. “By spending Rs 50,000 crore, 19 lakh houses are being built for the poorer sections. Every woman should live with self-respect by having individual household toilet and the State should be ODF by March”, the Chief Minister said.
He also reiterated that the AP bifurcation was not done systematically. Still striving hard to develop Navyandhra, he pointed out. The government has executed farmers loan waiver scheme by spending Rs 24,000 crore and irrigation projects are being constructed at a cost of Rs 50,000 crore.
Handri-Neeva water will be taken to Kuppam and Galeru-Nagari water to the eastern parts which will protect Chittoor district from drought permanently.
By interlinking 5 rivers from Srikakulam to Chittoor, the government will fulfill the dreams of TDP founder and former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao, he said. With Vision 2020 and Vision 2029 steps are being taken to make the State No.1 in the country.
“Always I am thinking about the people of Kuppam. I am developing the area with CC roads to all villages, toilets and drainage systems etc. People should work hard to grow financially and live happily, I cannot forget the affection you are showing on me for the last 30 years”, Chandrababu told the people.
Minister Nara Lokesh, Chittoor MP Dr N Sivaprasad, District Collector P S Pradyumna also spoke on the occasion. Later, Naidu witnessed the virtual classroom system through AP fibrenet under which a teacher from Bengaluru taught the students from Ramakuppam and Srikalahasti.
He announced Rs 50,000 cash deposit to Sasank, a fourth class student of 121 Pedduru Primary school who listed the government schemes without a break before the Chief Minister.
