Call to make dist free from spurious liquor
Kurnool: K Venkateshwara Rao, Director of Enforcement, Prohibition and Excise Department, has said that cheap liquor in nine districts in the state has been prohibited. Still four more districts are in the list which has to initiate steps for its prohibition.
Kurnool is listed among the other four districts, said Venkateshwara Rao. He along with District Superintendent of Police (SP) Gopinath Jetty and Excise Deputy Commissioner Sri Ramulu reviewed the illegal manufacturing of liquor and its prohibition with police and Excise personnel at Ved Vyas Auditorium on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Venkateshwara Rao sought the cooperation of SP for prohibiting the manufacturing of adulterated liquor. He directed the officials concerned to file cases against those indulging in the making of spurious liquor.
Special Branch DSP J Babu Prasad, Assistant Excise Superintendents Shaik Fayazuddin (Kurnool) and Hepsiba Rani (Nandyal), State Task Force DSP Raghavendra, Circle Inspectors, Sub Inspectors and all excise Circle Inspectors and Sub Inspectors participated in the review meeting.
