Self help groups to get bank linkage loan cheques today
Vijayawada: As part of the Janmabhoomi- Maa Vooru programme, the district administration will conduct maha grounding mela in all mandals in the district on Thursday, the penultimate day of the Janmabhoomi programme, and distribute cheques worth Rs 910 crore to self-help groups (SHGs).
Nearly, 3,57,000 women belonging to the SHGs will be benefited with the distribution of cheques. The district administration made arrangements for the distribution of cheques. Cheques worth Rs 300 crore will be distributed in urban areas and cheques worth Rs 610 crore will be handed over to women in rural areas on Thursday.
The state government is sanctioning bank linkage loans for the empowerment of women in the state. Similarly, 1,60,000 students will get Chandranna Bheema scholarships at the Janmabhoomi programmes on Thursday. The government is sanctioning scholarships to the students as part of the Chandranna Bheema.
Agriculture tool kits, tractors, electrical equipment and other material will be distributed on Thursday. District collector B Lakshmikantham on Wednesday conducted a conference with the nodal officers and later briefed the media at the camp office. He congratulated the employees on getting ISO certificate for the Collectorate.
He said it was possible due to the collective efforts of the staff. Divi Seema boating competitions will be held on Jan 13, 14 in Nagayalanka Collector B Lakshmikantham told the reporters that traditional boating competitions will be organised at Nagayalanka Srirama Padakshetram on January 13 and 14 from 8 am to 5 pm to mark Sankranti festival.
He released the brochure of the boating competitions at the camp office. He said the department of tourism is conducting boating competitions in association with department of culture and language, Nagayalanka development committee and district administration.
He said boating competitions will begin at 8 am on January 13 and finals will be held at 3 pm on January 14. Prize distribution will be held at 5 pm and later cultural programmes and fireworks display to be organised to conclude the two-day competitions.
