Intermediate pre-finals from Jan 22

Rajamahendravaram: Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) regional inspection officer (RIO), T Venkateswara Rao, has said that the pre-final examination schedule of Intermediate students was altered owing to the onset of Janmabhoomi Maa Vooru programme.

Speaking to reporters in his office here on Thursday, he said that the pre-final examinations would be conducted from January 22 to January 25 and from January 30 to January 31.

The first year Intermediate students would have an examination in Ethics and Human Values on January 27 from 10 am to 1 pm, followed by examination on Environmental Sciences on January 29 from 10 am to 1 pm. The second year Intermediate students who missed or failed to clear the Environmental Sciences examination last year can reattempt.

As many as 52,965 students are expected to write both the first year and second year Intermediate examinations in the district this year. “Out of them, as many as 5,145 students write vocational examination,” he added.

The government declared Sankranthi holidays for colleges from January 12 to January 20 and the government ruled out conducting classes during the holidays. “Stern action would be initiated against the respective managements if they conduct classes,” the RIO, Venkateswara Rao warned.
