Suicide attempt over land grab 

Kadapa: Tension prevailed for some time at Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme in Mydukur on Thursday, as one Sheik Mastan Vali tried to commit suicide by setting himself ablaze protesting against the failure of the officials concerned in taking action against one SK Abdul, who grabbed his house site.  

The victim stated that the government had sanctioned a plot to him in 2008 for constructing a house under the Indiramma Housing Scheme in Mydukur town. He alleged Abdul has grabbed his land saying that the revenue authorities had issued patta for the same site. Mastan Vali had lodged several complaints with officials concerned. But, no action was taken.
