AP State will act as per HC directions: Deputy Chief Minister

Rajamahendravaram: Deputy Chief Minister and home minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa has said that the government will act as per the directions of High Court regarding cockfights in the state.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, he said the government issued directions to the respective officials not to allow cockfights and initiate stern action against those who violate the court orders and organise cockfights.

There is no objection to celebrate three-day Sankranti festival as per our tradition and culture, he said and added the Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme has brought festive mood among the people across the state. As part of Sankranti festival, he said the government will give Chandranna Kanuka kits to poor.
