Ganta backs cock-fights

Visakhapatnam: Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that cock-fights during Sankranti are tradition to the Telugus as Jallikattu is for Tamilians. Defending his comments, the minister said that cock-fights should be organised following the directive of the High Court.

He advised the people not to tie knives to the cocks which is against the High Court fiat. Speaking to the media here on Friday, the minister said that cock-fights can be organised without betting and tying knives to the cocks.
