Why Dugarajapatnam Port left out from CM’s wish list, BJP asks TDP
Nellore: BJP state general secretary S Suresh Reddy has criticised the Telugu Desam government for not including the Dugarajapatnam Port in its wish list placed before Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing the media at party district office here on Friday, Suresh Reddy lashed out AP Ministers Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy and Narayana for not mounting pressure on the Chief Minister to include Dugarajapatnam port in its agenda.
He also alleged that the government had failed to allocate 5,083 acres of lands for construction of Dugarajapatnam Port. Works of the port have to be finished by 2018 if started, he added.
“Though the state government had failed to allocate lands for the project but Ministers from the district were saying that they would request the central government to reconsider the Dugarajapatnam port,” he ridiculed. Suresh Reddy alleged that no firm has opened its shop in the Krishnapatnam SEZ till now.
He demanded the government to release a white paper on the status of Krishnapatnam SEZ. “Though the state government had issued a GO for taking back the unutilised lands from the SEZs. Then why the government and the district authorities have neglected the issue,” he questioned the ruling government.
He demanded the state government to allocate lands for the port immediately. Suresh warned that the BJP would intensify the stir if the government fails to allocate lands. BJP district vice-president Midathala Ramesh and other leaders were present.
