One hurt in group clash in Janapadu
Guntur: One person was injured in a clash between two groups in Janapadu village under Piduguralla mandal of Guntur district on Saturday night. When two groups were playing cricket at the ZP high school in the village, an argument over petty issue turned serious and led to clash. One group attacked another with sticks and pelted stones at them. One person was injured in the attack. In the stone pelting, the door of houses of another group were damaged.
The angered minority women staged a rasta roko in the Janapadu village demanding action against group in the wee hours of Sunday. The women alleged that police are not acting against group backed by ruling party leaders. Three minority women lodged case against group. Upon information, YSRCP leaders Kasu Mahesh Reddy, Lella Appi Reddy, former MLA Marri Rajasekhar rushed to Janapadu and staged a rasta roko on Addanki-Narketpalli highway demanding arrest of accused.
The YSRCP leaders warned that they will continue their agitation till the accused were arrested. Addressing the gathering, the YSRCP official spokesman Ambati Rambabu demanded stern action against the accused and questioned why some people came from Piduguralla to attack on other groups. Sattenapalli DSP V Kalesha Vali rushed to the spot and assured that he will act against accused in the case. The police arrested 10 culprits regarding incidents in the village.
