Appoint new Governor for AP: Haribabu
Visakhapatnam: BJP State president and MP Kambhampati Haribabu wrote a letter on Tuesday to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh requesting him to appoint a Governor exclusively for Andhra Pradesh. The MP had mentioned that the people of AP following the State bifurcation desired that the government should function from the State itself.
He pointed out that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and the State government employees have already shifted from Hyderabad and were functioning from the Secretariat in thew new capital Amaravati. Still the High court of AP and Telangana is functioning from Hyderabad. There is a strong demand that the High Court should be divided and a separate High Court for AP should be set up in Amaravati.
The AP government is in the process of identifying suitable place for construction of High Court, the MP pointed out. Similarly, the Governor of both Telugu speaking States is functioning from Hyderabad. People of AP opine that a new Governor should function from the State and enable smooth functioning of administration, he said.
