Chittoor: YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday questioned Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister as to what the latter had done to Chandragiri constituency which is considered as TDP's stronghold in Chittoor district.

YS Jagan was speaking at a public meeting organised at Ramachandrapuram mandal in Chandragiri constituency as part of his padaytra — Praja Sankalpa Yatra on Saturday.
Chandragiri has always been a special for the TDP as it was a place where AP CM Chandrababu was born, YS Jagan pointed out. In 1978, Chandrababu Naidu started his political career by contesting from Chandragiri as MLA.

Later, with the help of late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Naidu had become a Minister in the NTR's cabinet, he said. After ruling the state for five years, Chandrababu Naidu again came to Chandragiri and contested for the second time as an MLA in 1983. Naidu, who was holding a Ministry, suffered a major setback as he was defeated by his rival with 17,500 votes.
