Accidents claim two lives
Eluru: Two persons were killed on the spot and another two sustained grievous injuries in two separate road accidents in West Godavari district on Wednesday. According to police, Bolero vehicle, which was proceeding towards Guntur from Kakinada, hit two motorbikes after reaching Sarmistha Centre in Tanuku town when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
In the first incident, Pothula Srinu (54) of Pydiparru village in Tanuku mandal died on the spot and Pangam Sambasiva Rao of Pydiparru was injured while they were going to Pydiparru. Later, the truck hit another motorbike of Chalamalasetty Srinivas of Pathuru, who was going to Tanuku town, he received serious injuries.
The deceased Pothula Srinu was a commission agent of jaggery. Seriously injured Sambasiva Rao and Srinivas were shifted to Tanuku Government Hospital. As their condition is critical, they were shifted to a private hospital in the town.
In another accident occurred at Sriparru village in Eluru rural mandal, a 51-year-old man died on the spot when a speeding car hit him. D Raghavulu (51), the victim was a coconut merchant in Amalapuram.
He is survived by wife and two children. He, along with his family, went to Kaikalur. On Wednesday afternoon, when he was returning alone on the motorbike, a speedy car going towards Kaikalur hit him at Sriparru village. The police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem to Eluru Government Hospital.
