Chandrababu Naidu reopens Gurajada Kalakshetram

Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reopened Gurajada Kalakshetram here on Wednesday. Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) reconstructed the open-air auditorium at a cost of Rs 9 crore with a seating capacity of 3,000.

Located in the heart of the city at Siripuram Junction, Gurajada Kalakshetram is a good place to conduct major events. During the Hudhud cyclone in 2014, the auditorium was damaged. Therefore, VUDA came forward and proposed to develop with new designs to ensure the structure withstand natural calamities.

The auditorium was looking beautiful with new ambience after renovation. The VUDA replaced the cement benches with wooden seats. The stage also remodelled with high quality stereo system, video equipment, curtains can be operated automatically and also provided green rooms with all the necessary facilities to organise programmes.

Minister for Roads and Buildings Ayyana Patrudu, Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivas Rao, District Collector Pravin Kumar and other officials were present.
