Panchayat secretary lands in ACB net

Vijayawada: E Veera Hanuman Goud, panchayat secretary of Pamarru village in Krishna district, along with a typist, was caught red-handed on Thursday while accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000 for doing a favour in the panchayat office in Pamarru. 

According to R P Thakur, the Director General of ACB, the accused had demanded Rs 7,000 bribe from Kondaveeti Subramanyam, an applicant for the water tap, for doing a favour. The victim had complained to the ACB officials about the demand made by the accused.

The officials on Thursday laid the trap and caught red-handed when the typist Bommareddy Malleswari took the cash from the victim. The accused was taking the bribe with the help of the typist. The officials immediately arrested the duo and later produced them in the court in Vijayawada. 

Subramanyam had asked for the tap connection in Pamarru village. But the accused had demanded the bribe and was caught red-handed while accepting it.
