Book criminal cases against cable cutters, Chandrababu Naidu directs Director General of Police

Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed the Director General of Police Malakondaiah to take criminal action against those who cut the Fibregrid cables in the state. Naidu held a review meeting of the police department in collectors’ conference here on Friday.

He pointed out that some of the criminal-minded people have been cutting cables and damaging public property in the state in many areas. Suggesting the police to take serious action on such crimes, the Chief Minister warned that government would no longer tolerate such criminal incidents.

The Chief Minister further directed the Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar to suspend lower cadre officials, if government found their involvement in the cases. Giving a serious warning to cable operators too in the state, he instructed the officials to take serious legal action against those who oppose the fibre grid works in the state.

In the review meeting, CM directed Malakondaiah to take steps to reduce crime rate in the state by taking advantage of technology. Chief Minister directed the officials to release monthly crime details  from next month onwards. This is first of its kind initiative by the state government. The CM observed that creation of awareness on the crime rate every month will reduce the criminal activity in the state.
