Chandrababu Naidu expresses ire over bogus pensions
Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said that he would not tolerate any irregularities in distribution of pensions. The Chief Minister expressed his ire over officials when he came to know about bogus pensions by changing date of birth with the help of employees in Mee Seva centres.
In the second day of collectors’ conference, roads and buildings minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu told the Chief Minister that bogus pensions were sanctioned in an assembly constituency without any verification of eligibility of beneficiaries. Minister for energy Kala Venkata Rao said Mee Seva centres employees were helping to change date of births in Aadhaar cards for those who wants to apply for old age pensions.
The Chief Minister reacted seriously over the issue and warned that the employees who responsible for irregularities would be sent to jail. He also expressed displeasure over officials of AP Fiber grid and Mee Seva for neglecting such irregularities and directed to set up a committee with the officials of revenue, real time governance, education and welfare departments to keep tab on issue of date of birth certificates and other related issues.
