Krishna District Tops In Per Capita Income In South India
Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh has achieved top place by registering highest earning Per Capita income district in the entire South India.
The per capita income of Krishna has been registered at Rs 1, 61, 907 which is higher than in Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. However, Andhra Pradesh registered lowest per capita income state among all southern states. Karnataka ranked number one ( Rs 1,59, 893) followed by Telangana ( Rs 1,56,360) and Tamil Nadu ( Rs 1,57, 116) in the per capita income.
In Andhra, East Godavari occupied second, followed by Visakhapatnam, Nellore, Prakasham, Guntur, Kadapa, East Godavari, Chittoor, Kurnool, Anantapur and Vizianagaram. Srikakulam stood last with Rs 94,118 per capita income.
Krishna district also stood first in GVA ( Gross Value Added) and Visakhapatnam and East Godavari occupied second and third positions as per the 2011 -12 market prices.
In the Agriculture, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur and East Godavari occupied first to four positions respectively. In the industrial sector, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and Krishna districts occupied first three ranks. In the service sector, Krishna, West Godavari and Visakhapatnam occupied top three ranks.
