Vijayawada police seizes 270 kg ganja
Vijayawada: The city police arrested Sinderu Semonu and recovered 270 kg ganja and seized a car here on Friday. According to Patamata police, ganja was reportedly being smuggled from Visakhapatnam agency area to various places these days. In this regard, the city police in the limits of the commissionerate had increased surveillance and recovered huge quantities of ganja by arresting the accused.
The Patamata police conducted checking on the national highway at Ramavarappadu. When they stopped the car, immediately two persons tried to give the slip to police. However, they caught hold of Sinderu Semonu of Rallagadda village, Chintapalli mandal while fleeing.
After a thorough check of the vehicle, police recovered 135 packets of ganja which was about 270 kg. On interrogation, Semonu confessed that one K Sri Ramachandra Murthy of Vemulapudi hired them to smuggle ganja and K Chanti Babu and he were workers. Investigation is on.
