Air Defence College Lieutenant General pays visit to HSL

Visakhapatnam: The Commandant Army, Air Defence College Gopalpur, Lieutenant General AP Singh, visited Hindustan Shipyard Limited here on Saturday. The Director Ship Building, Commodore AS Mitra, received AP Singh and briefed him about the unique capabilities and facilities of the shipyard as well as about shipbuilding, ship repair and submarine repair projects that have been undertaken in the past as well those currently in progress.

The Lieutenant General was apprised about the significant achievements made by the shipyard in the last fiscal.  The HSL has posted a turnover of Rs 629 crore and profit of Rs 54 crore during 2016-17, which is the best since the inception despite having a very lean order book position when compared with other DPSUs and that too without any financial grant from the government, Mitra explained to the Lieutenant General. The various welfare measures undertaken for the benefit of the employees have also been apprised to the General.
