Police arrest 2 in spouses murder
Eluru: Polavaram police arrested two persons in connection with twin murders of their spouses, which came to light on Saturday. Addressing media at Polavaram on Sunday, Polavaram DSP A T S Ravikumar said a complaint was received by Polavaram police that Illa Savitri,38 and her daughter Puliboyina Mangatayaru,19 were missing from their house in LND Pet village on November 28.
During investigation, the police suspected the duo, Illa Ramanjaneyulu, husband of Savitri and his son-in-law Puliboyina Nagaraju, husband of Manga Tayaru. During interrogation, it was revealed the accused suspecting the fidelity of their spouses, living separately. The issue was brought to the notice of village elders by Savitri, mother-in-law of Nagaraju.
As they pressurised Nagaraju and Ramanjaneylu to take their wives to their house, the duo decided to eliminate both Savitri and Mangatayaru. As per their plan, Nagaraju has agreed to take his wife Manga Tayaru to his house in Yerrayagudem in Buttayagudem mandal. In November first week, Ramanjaneyulu and Nagaraju called both the women to a cashew garden nearby the road of KR Puram ITDA and Yerrayagudem.
In the evening, both the mother and daughter asked to reach Kannapuram and from there Nagaraju took them on his motorbike to Yerrayagudem and stopped the vehicle at the cashew garden.
Ramanjaneyulu, who was already in cashew garden, tied a nylon rope around the two women and killed them. Later they buried both the bodies in a pit. The police on Saturday reached the garden and in the presence of Buttayagudem tahsildar, they exhumed the bodies from the pit.
