Techie commits suicide

Eluru: An engineering student committed suicide in a hotel in Narasimharaopeta area of the city on Sunday night. The recent death of his mother is said to be the reason for the extreme step by the youngster. 

According to police, Motukuri Sai Venkata Vamsikrishna, a third year B.Tech student of Sir CR Reddy Engineering College, checked into room No .226 in Grand Arya hotel in Narasimharao pet two days agio.

He wandered around the hotel lounges in the morning. From the afternoon, no one saw him outside. He locked his room from inside. The hotel employees went to the room in the evening and knocked the door.

However, as he did not open the door, the management complained the police. The III Town police reached the hotel and broke open the door of the room to find Vamsikrishna hanging from the ceiling.

III Town CI Srinivasa Rao, SI A Pydibabu and other police personnel enquired with the lodge staff about the student.  Police identified him as Motukuri Sai Venkata Vamsikrishna on the basis of ID card of the Sir CR Reddy Engineering College.

The victim belonged to Narsaraopeta of Guntur district. He was studying engineering by staying in a hostel. It is learnt that he wrote a suicide note in which he stated that no one is responsible for his suicide.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the boy had went into depression after his mother was electrocuted while trying to heat water with an electric heater. In his suicide note, he reportedly said, “Mom, I am coming to you. All should live in happiness. No one is responsible for my death”.  

Police said Vamsikrishna’s paternal uncle was working at CR Reddy College and he has been on leave for the last few days. On learning of the incident, the relatives of the victim are coming to Eluru.
