Energy expert K Ranganatham to receive Lifetime Achievement Award

Amaravati:  Energy sector expert K Ranganatham will be honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contribution for development and future of energy sector in Andhra Pradesh over the course of his career. 

He will receive the award on the occasion of Republic Day on January 26. Ranganatham was appointed as advisor to Energy department in 2014 for effective implementation of “Power for All” scheme and to deal with the functioning of power utilities.

He started his career in APSEB in 1963.In a press release on Sunday, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said Ranaganatham demonstrated a consistent track record of significant contribution to power sector.

Appreciating his efforts in introducing spot billing system for the first time in the country in Tirupati, he said it resolved issues regarding wrong meter readings and non-receipt of demand notices etc in the state.  “As a CMD of APSPDCL in 2002, he made efforts to achieve the targeted revenue collection,” the Chief Minister said.

Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar recalled efforts of Ranganatham in introducing HVDS to 9.62 lakh agriculture pump sets for ensuring quality power supply to farmers.  

APERC chairman G Bhavani Prasad, principal secretaries G Sai Prasad, K Vijayanand and Ajay Jain congratulated Ranaganatham and said Ranganantham was role model to engineering fraternity and another ‘Mokshagundam of AP.’

APSEEDCO MD and CEO A Chandra Sekhar Reddy, CMD and JMDs of APTRANSCO and CMDs of DISCOMs also congratulated K Ranaganatham.
