Girl dies as bus hits 2-wheeler 

Vijayawada: A B Pharmacy student Mallampalli Mounika, 23, died in a ghastly road accident near Anjaneya Swamy temple in Gannvaram on Monday. The student, along with her father, went to a local hospital for dental treatment and was returning home on a moped.

A speeding RTC hire bus going from Vijayawada towards Gannavaram dashed her two-wheeler killing the student on the spot and wounding her father Mallampalli Anjaneyulu, a local CPM leader.

The local residents alleged that the mishap was caused due to gross negligence of the RTC hire bus driver, who fled from the accident site after the mishap. Gannavaram police registered a case.
