Respect parents, teachers: District education officer

Guntur: District education officer R S Ganga Bhavani stressed  the need to give respect to parents. Participating in the Ammaku Vandanam programme held at ZPHS in Namburu on Monday on the occasion of Vasantha Panchami, she said that those who respect mother, should respect teachers and elders also. 

Those who respect parents and elders will become responsible  citizens, she added. Taking this into consideration, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu introduced this programme. Though they are conducting yearly once this programme, she urged the students to give respect to their parents and follow their suggestions and advises. Bhavani said  Ammaku Vandanam programme  was being conducted over 5,000 schools in the state.

Earlier, the students washed  legs of their mothers in the plates and poured drops of water on their heads.  Later, they performed puja to their mothers and felicitated them. The mothers blessed their children and explained need to give respect to parents. Education  department officials were also present.
