3.84 cr indoor stadium opened

Visakhapatnam: HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao inaugurated an indoor stadium constructed by Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority with a seating capacity of 1,000 at a cost of Rs 3.84 crore in an extent of 6.40 acres land at Bheemili on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that volleyball court, shuttle court, green rooms, VIP lounge and several other facilities have been set up in the stadium. The stadium would be useful to students of Bheemili constituency to develop them as good sports persons, he added.

“The government is giving top priority to sports and games on par with the education. The government ordered all the head masters of both zillaparishad and municipal schools must allocate games period on every day. The government is also constructing another big stadium in an extent of 150 acres in Aganampudi,” minister said.
