Jagan not averse to alliance with BJP

Amaravati: In a development that could alter pattern in political kaleidoscope, YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday said he had no objection to strike an alliance with the BJP if the Prime Minister was ready to bestow special category status on Andhra Pradesh.

Jagan made the comment during his ‘praja sankalpa padayatra’ in Chittoor district, which has kicked up a storm in political circles since he made his mind known at a time when the TDP's alliance with the BJP was coming under severe strain.

In fact, Chandrababu Naidu, who needs Prime Minister Narendra's Mod's image once again in the next election, is very guarded in expressing his views on the BJP-TDP relations but once in a while, the veil of forbearance drops exposing how frustrated Naidu is in the wake of release of funds for various projects being only in fits and starts.

Sensing that the BJP might be in the mood for a change of partner, Jagan Mohan Reddy is understood to have opened up while speaking to a channel during his padayatra. Jagan Mohan Reddy has been supporting the BJP all along but stopped short of saying it would forge an alliance with the saffron party.

Though Naidu and his minions always dismiss as ridiculous Jagan Mohan Reddy's ostentatious talk that he was meeting the prime minister time and gain only for ensuring benefits to the state and they insist that it was because he wanted the BJP's help in return to be off the CBI's hook.
