Executive lounge inaugurated at Vijayawada railway station

Vijayawada: Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Development Corporation (IRCTDC) inaugurated executive lounge on platform No. 1 at Vijayawada railway station for the convenience of commuters. 

IRCTDC group general manager G Narsinga Rao inaugurated the newly built lounge here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, he said the IRCTDC is providing basic facilities to the passengers and operating tours to various destinations. Referring to lounge, he said separate waiting rooms and wash rooms are arranged in the longue for the convenience of women passengers. 

He informed that tooth brushes, soaps, soft drinks and snacks are available in the lounge. He said the IRCTDC is collecting charges of Rs 150 for two hours for each passenger. He further said that Rs 50 will be charged for every extra hour. Catering, newspapers, television sets and furniture facility has been arranged. 

R K Chan, Deputy General Manager of IRCTDC, lounge manager K Madhusudhan Rao, lounge executive B Prabhakara Rao and others were present on the occasion. Railways already arranged four waiting halls on the platform No 1. Two general waiting halls available for common passengers, one for reservation ticket holders and one is on payment.
